Thrift Store Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering at the thrift stores. Worthwhile Thrift stores are open Monday-Friday 10:00-6:00 pm and Saturday 10:00-5:00 pm.  Shifts are generally 4 hours and scheduled when convenient to the volunteer.  Volunteers under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.

Thrift store volunteers receive a 50% discount off of all thrift items and 20% off all Freedom Boutique items 

Steps to become a volunteer:

1. Fill out Application and Confidentiality Agreement 
2. Provide copies of background checks: Child Abuse & PA Criminal Background
3. Complete in-person training with the store manager
4. Complete online "Basic Training" by the end of the first three months

Store volunteers may be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Organizing clothing racks and displays
• Re-stocking shoes, jewelry and accessories
• Store cleaning
• Pricing thrift shoes, jewelry, and accessories
• Tagging items
• Maintaining sales floor presentations
• Maintaining a courteous and professional attitude with customers
• Helping customers with purchases (example: offering to bring items downstairs, moving furniture, etc.)
• Operating a cash register, bagging/wrapping customers’ purchases
• Helping change seasonal displays
• Providing information and answering questions about Worthwhile Wear

Clothing Stockers | Pipersville

Volunteers restock clothing racks

Shifts: 9:00-11:00 am or 4:00-6:00 pm

Front-End Help | Fountainville

Shifts: Monday- Thursday 2:00-6:00 pm, Friday and Saturday all day! 

Houseware Stockers | Pipersville

Volunteers restock shelves

Shifts: 9:00-11:00 am or 4:00-6:00 pm

Last Day of the Month Help | Pipersville

Volunteers remove marked items and refresh stock for the new month.

Shifts: 9:00 am-6:00 pm the last day of the month (or the day before if the last day is a Sunday)

This is a great job two-person job!

The day can also be broken into shifts if one team can’t do all 9 hours.

Warehouse Donations | Pipersville

Volunteers help sort and organize donations: clothing, books, electronics, kitchen ware, etc.

Shifts: determined by volunteer and store manager.

Donations Help | Fountainville

Volunteers help manage donations by sorting and pricing incoming donations and interacting with donors.

Shifts: All

Outside Maintenance | Fountainville

Volunteers rake stones in driveway, pick up sticks and trash, weed flower beds, plant flower beds, sweep porch area, etc.

Shifts: Once or twice a month, shift determined by volunteer

4th Thursday Help | Fountainville

Volunteers provide extra floor coverage during the store's big Thrifty Thursday Sale. 

Shifts: minimum 2 hour shifts, 8 hour total coverage needed
