You can bring about change. The simple act of being active can help survivors of human trafficking and bring hope to many who are still oppressed by sexual exploitation and modern day slavery. The ACT Challenge is free to join and open to all ages and any abilities. For every mile recorded, sponsoring businesses will donate $1 to fund programming and housing for survivors of human trafficking.
In 2018, the National Human Trafficking Hotline identified 23,078 survivors of human trafficking in the United States, so we walk for them and for survivors everywhere.
Track or record your miles (using Strava, Endomondo, Runtastic, Google Fit, etc.) while you walk, run, or bike and then post a screenshot of your route or an image from your activity to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #ACTWorthwhile. Your posts help bring awareness to the issue of trafficking and help us work towards our collective goal!
We’ll be using the #ACTWorthwhile hashtag to see who’s joining in the ACT Challenge and what miles they’ve covered. From those social media posts, we’ll tally the total miles. If your Instagram or Facebook profile is set to private, we will not be able to see your post, so please email your image/mileage to email@example.com.
Now through the official end of the summer (September 21)
